The spark for CommuteCompass ignited when my partner and I were flat hunting in London. Our goal was straightforward: find a place in a decent location with a 30-minute or less commute to her work, and having a supermarket nearby would be handy.

The process was monotonous - we would browse property websites, identify the nearest tube station for each listing, and then hop onto CityMapper to check the commute time if we weren't familiar with the station, followed by a Google Maps session to see where we would be doing our weekly shop. This tedious routine not only wasted a lot of time but also led to the realisation that there could be a more commute-centric, streamlined approach to house hunting in London, leading to the conception of CommuteCompass.
